GIOTIS RENTALS – Terms & Conditions

Driver Requirements

  • Minimum Age: Drivers must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
  • License Type: A valid European or International motorcycle license is required, matching the class of the rented motorcycle. It must be valid and issued at least one year prior to the rental date in the renter’s country of residence.

Included in the Rental

  • Mileage: Unlimited
  • Second Driver: Free of charge
  • Road Maps: Provided free of charge
  • Pickup/Drop-off: Free delivery and collection at the port, airport, or your hotel (within 7–10 km of our base). For longer distances, availability is upon request.

Extras

  • Flat Tire Coverage: Optional 2 €/day. If selected, you won’t be charged the standard 1 €/km and 20 € repair fee in case of a flat tire.
  • Helmet: Provided free of charge.

Note: Parking is not allowed on Papavasileiou Street or in the Chora area. Use municipal parking lots only.

Rental Duration

  • Minimum: 1 day (24 hours)
  • Grace Period: 30 minutes after agreed return time without extra charge. After that, a full day will be charged.

Cancellation Policy

  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the rental start time.

Insurance

All vehicles are insured for third-party accidents:

  • Injury or damage caused to other drivers or vehicles
  • Legal support and accident care
  • Personal accident coverage for the renter

With third-party insurance, the renter is fully liable for damage to the rented vehicle.

Insurance Does NOT Cover:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Driving on unpaved roads
  • Damage to the underside, tires, or rims of the vehicle
  • Accidents involving unauthorized drivers not listed in the rental contract
  • Accidents that are not reported to GIOTIS RENTALS with an official accident report, regardless of fault

In any such case, the renter is responsible for immediate payment of all damages or loss. This includes the full cost of repair or replacement, up to the current market value of the motorcycle at the time of the incident or theft.

Fuel Policy

Fuel costs are the renter’s responsibility. The motorcycle must be returned with the same fuel level it had upon pickup.

  • Cash
  • Bank transfer
  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard)

Taxes

All prices include VAT, as defined by Greek law.

Traffic Violations

All fines and penalties are the sole responsibility of the renter.

Usage Restrictions

  • Prohibited Uses: No racing, wheelies, or driving on sand.
  • Security: The vehicle must be locked whenever unattended.
  • Authorized Drivers: Only the renter and those listed in the rental agreement may drive the vehicle.
  • Travel Restrictions: The motorcycle may not leave the island.
  • Condition: The vehicle must be returned in the same condition it was received.
  • Breakdowns: The renter must notify GIOTIS RENTALS immediately in case of mechanical failure.
  • Accidents: Must be reported within 24 hours. Failure to do so makes the renter fully responsible for all resulting damages.

Liability & Termination

  • GIOTIS RENTALS is not liable for any direct or indirect damages to the renter or third parties during the rental period.
  • Motorcycle images are indicative; exact models may vary.
  • GIOTIS RENTALS reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement without notice or refund in case of reckless driving, endangerment, or misuse of the vehicle.
  • Terms and pricing are subject to change without prior notice.
